Published by: staff reporterX FACTOR star Gamu is set take the stage at a Chester nightclub.
Gamu Nhengu will appear live at Cruise, on St John Street, on Friday, February 25, as part of her debut tour of the UK, following her controversial exit from ITV’s talent programme.
The singer, who is originally from Zimbabwe, moved to Scotland eight years ago and impressed the judges and the public at last year’s auditions.
Her audition video on YouTube has accumulated more than 4.7 million views.
However, after she made it through to boot camp she was later denied a place in the final by the selection of Cher Lloyd.
After she was kicked off the show more than 250,000 fans signed up to a Facebook page objecting to the decision.
Despite well-publicised immigration issues, Gamu’s family have been allowed to remain in the country.
The 19-year-old says she is now determined to push forward with her singing career and Gamu has been asking fans on her Facebook page and Twitter to suggest songs they want to hear her sing at Cruise nightclub.
Tickets are available from the Cruise reception for £6 per person. To book call 01244 408000.
The Chester-based nightclub will also host X Factor runner-up Rebecca Ferguson, who will sing on Friday, May 13. Tickets are also available for this event priced at £8 per
